Market organizer support

Practical support for the people behind the markets

For market organizers who want smoother systems, clearer communication, and less market-day chaos.

Running a market takes more than booking vendors and hoping everyone shows up with the right tent weights. Whether you’re brand new to market management or you’ve been doing this for a while and want a second set of eyes, there are two ways to get support: small-group mentorship or one-on-one consulting.

Run succesful markets

Markets don’t just happen and running a successful market event takes more than just randomly filling stalls.

It requires clear systems and policies, strong vendor communication, smooth setup flow, thoughtful promotion, and the ability to make 47 small decisions before your coffee gets cold.

That’s where one-on-one consulting comes in.

This is practical support for market organizers who want to run more successful markets, whether that means improving vendor experience, growing the number of stalls, reducing market-day chaos, cleaning up internal systems, or getting a second set of eyes on what’s working and what’s not.

Isabels advice is grounded in real market experience. She managed a weekly farmers market for six years, with 210+ market days as a market manager. During that time, Isabel grew the market from 25 stalls to 72 stalls in just over three seasons, worked with hundreds of vendors, streamlined the admin side by moving from excel sheets to market software and learned firsthand what makes a market feel organized, welcoming, and worth coming back to. In every aspect of the complex role Isabel finds ways to include the lens of hospitality, customer service, financial sustainability and business improvement practices to build a resilient event operations.

It takes two to tango, Isabel also brings the vendor perspective, having participated casually as a vendor for several years. That means she understands both sides: what organizers need to keep things fair, safe, and functional, and what vendors need to feel prepared, informed, and supported.

The work is also shaped by broader industry involvement, including attending the BC Farmers’ Market Conference and serving on the Board of Directors of the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets and the Columbia Basin Trusts’ Local Food Task Force.

In short: this is not theory. This is hands-on, real-world support to help you build a stronger market behind the scenes and a better experience on market day.

Market Manager Mentorship Circle

Small-group mentorship for market managers who want practical support, fresh ideas, and fewer “am I the only one dealing with this?” moments.

Managing a market can feel pretty lonely sometimes. You’re expected to understand vendor management, market layout, regulations, volunteer coordination, board communication, marketing, budgeting, and the mysterious art of keeping everyone calm when the weather turns sideways. Oftentimes with very little on-boarding or training.

The Market Manager Mentoring Circle is a small-group virtual program for market organizers who want guidance, structure, and a place to talk through the real challenges of running a market.

This is not a lecture series. It’s a practical, discussion-based mentoring circle shaped around the people in the group. Before the sessions begin, you’ll be invited to share what type of market or event you manage, how long you’ve been in the role, what you’re hoping to get out of the program, and where you’re feeling stuck right now.

That way, we can focus on the topics that are actually useful, not just a generic checklist that may or may not apply to your market.

Over five weekly sessions, we’ll work through common market management challenges, share ideas, brainstorm specific situations, and build more confidence in the role.
