Unclaimed or Claimed Market Profile

The difference between the new, pink location icons and the green ones. What It Means and Why It Matters.

If you have been exploring the My Market Scout map, you may have noticed that some markets show up in pink while others have a green location icon. Here is what that actually means for both organizers and vendors.

Unclaimed Market Profiles
• Pink markets are added by me with a basic name and location only
• They act as simple placeholders so vendors can see that the market exists
• No further details are available because the organizer has not claimed the profile yet
• Think of them as signposts with no description, helping vendors understand what is out there but further information will have to be dug up in social media posts or via google

Claimed Market Profiles
• These are profiles where organizers have officially taken ownership
• Organizers can share helpful and transparent information that vendors rely on
• Claimed profiles often include application dates, fees, booth info, vendor categories, event dates and more
This supports clear communication and reduces manual back and forth for everyone. It also prevents scams and ensures a good fit between vendors, markets and shoppers.

Why Claimed Profiles Matter for Organizers
• They make it easier to attract the right vendors without extra effort
• Information stays accurate and up to date so you spend less time answering repetitive questions
• It helps organizers promote their events in a way that is accessible and fair
The goal is to reduce overwhelm and provide tools that support vendors in their hunt for sales opportunities

Why Claimed Profiles Matter for Vendors
• They remove the guesswork that often slows down market season planning
• Vendors can quickly see whether a market is a good fit before applying
• Better information leads to better decisions which supports vendor success and confidence
• This aligns with my mission to empower vendors with clarity, education and strong community connections

How Organizers Can Claim a Profile
• If your market shows up in pink, simply email send me an e-mail or you can list a market and claim it in the intake form
• Claiming is quick and helps strengthen the entire local market ecosystem
• Your profile becomes a central place where vendors can find trustworthy information and plan ahead

Claimed profiles make life easier for organizers and vendors. They create a more connected, transparent and supportive marketplace community which is exactly what I aim to nurture at My Market Scout.

When you are ready, claim your profile, or if you’re a vendor explore the map and register a vendor profile. The more vendors are on the platform the easier it gets to motivate organizers to join.

Stay tuned for what’s next,

Keep calm and carrot on
